Project 3: Pleasant Transitions in Highly Automated Vehicles

This project was done on the topic of smart mobility. Our research was about the handover in self-driving cars, so the moment you switch your car to the self-driving mode. and how to create an interaction that gives a feeling of trust. This research had a focus on interaction design and had a very specific user group namely car fanatics. 

 

Reflection

What was interesting was that this user group and the topic were far from my initial interest, but I focused on getting to know this group with research methods such as the repertory grid. What taught me to be empathetic as a designer. Furthermore, I learned about how to conduct liable research and write a paper about this. I could apply my previously gained knowledge about aesthetics of interaction and explore it with research, which gave me a more in-depth knowledge in this area.
